Huge brooding drone. Is that some more prep for your gig opening for an international artist?

Hey mate.  It is actually but these pieces are very long form impro from the source material and ideas I'll be using within the context of this other group who are usually acoustic doom stuff with female vocals.  We're supporting Mortiis which is the solo project of an early member of Emperor.  If you know your historic black metal, they made quite a name for themselves.  Should be an interesting show!

Oh for sure I know Emperor. Along with Marduk and Mayhem (and I guess Bathory), they were the founders. Though I guess Emperor did go into a more electronic direction at some point. That's pretty awesome that you'll be opening for Mortiis.

Ah cool!  Yes, I never fully got into that early wave of BM because as you mentioned; Bathory I feel already did all that with greater quality.  I don't mind some of the more experimental BM though where they introduce other styles/ambience/electronics etc though.  I was in an extreme metal band the same time as Emperor/Burzam etc were happening with all the craziness.  It was pretty mental hearing about it from the other side of the world.

Definitely a cool gig to score though.  Should be fun!

I really lost myself into this, lovely textures and evolution, great sound design

Great title, sets the mood for the piece from the start, the gradual buildup of intensity is fantastic.
