Intoxicating Errors

By rdomain on January 25, 2026 8:40 am

Another modular synth recording with some minor edits in post.  I also added some acoustic guitar playing recorded in a quick and lofi manner through my MBP mic for added grit and texture.  This patch features the Make Noise DPO with snarly/sub bass line and percussion at the same time.

Video of the patch here.

I love this … dirty raw sounds

cool textures

Spectacular use of the stereo field. Instantly filled my head and painted my closed eyes.

That beat is awesome. The high string hits are really good - they make the track feel even larger and get a sense of dread.

oh wow, the guitar winds it way through the frozen fog so tastefully
somewhere, somehow, Lynch wipes a tear from the corner of his eye

An intensiv 3 dimensional surround experience here to go through. Exquisite quality as usual.

Mega wow.

How do you feel about this one?

Very cool. I didn't realize how much a hint of guitar can add to an otherwise modular-de-force composition like this--more, please!

I dig this - very relaxing

That bass is nice and all the swirling textures are fantastic.

great use of stereo field.

That dread is always around the corner.  Hehe.  Glad you enjoyed the beat!

Cheers!  Yes, I'm pretty happy with this one for sure.  I needed to add something after I did the modular stuff which I don't do too often, to totally satisfy me so once I added the acoustic guitar, that did the trick.

Yeah, adding acoustic instruments into the electronic realm I find is usually pretty effective!  I actually have a long running duo project that's modular synth and shamisen/voice.  Playing Womad this year!  Chuffed about that.  smile
