There is probably a story behind the coma in December. Your track here is very deep and aloof somehow, what makes me even more clairaudient. Great performance you did.

Sounds slowed down. Pitched down. Cold and desolate as the tile implies.

Cinematic, building an atmosphere. The pad in the back even kinda sounds like a strange choir. Very haunting.

Ooof the tonal quality of everything is so nice.  From the subtle yet bassy pulse to that breathing snappy percussive sound.  The pad is very soothing pads tie everything nicely together.  The airy noise later adds a nice effect but really enjoyed the contrasting calm outro.  Well done!

Yes there is a story behind the title but I'll leave it a mystery smile Glad you appreciated the performance aspect and thanks for teaching me a new word!  Clairaudient.  Yay!

There's definitely slowed down stuff in the piece.  With one bit of hardware I use, when you pitch down the sound, all this aural magic appears.  Hidden sounds. I love it.  smile

Thank you!  There is a kind of strange choir in there which I played and manipulated. Love the haunting type sounds as they can sound beautiful as well as dark sometimes.

Thanks heaps. Everything has it's own unique sound and sound space and yes, the pad (which is where the noise is also extracted from) does tie everything together.  Thanks for listening.

do you practice a lot before you record?  or is this improv?

seems like you really understand your equipment to be able to move around sonic space so freely.  great job

I don't really practice a take before I do one per say but I have jammed out on what ever hardware I use and have experimented with various options and possibilities beforehand.  I believe your second comment is vital.  Yes, I delve deeply into all my instruments/equipment so I know them as much as possible as this allows me to create freely and to be comfortable improvising live with whatever I'm using.  smile

I love so many layers to this:
it's all hardware
the slow, pulsing build
the fact it was one session with no edits (I really respect you can do this, serious personal goals).

(Aside: Microcosm is the last pedal I bought, though I've used on none of my WB entries so far.) My favorite of this is the clicks / percussive sparseness that is absolutely vital to the sound's unfolding (and it's absence circa 3rd minute is quite readily felt before the soundscape has a chance to rebalance itself). Really appreciated the way the mixture of the sustained elements guided my attention to particular sounds that my head kept guessing if they were always there or appeared when I wasn't paying attention. Nice work.
