13th Entry

By RawTicks on March 29, 2014 6:00 pm

I was a bit busier than usual this week but fortunately I didn't struggle with the track at all.
I had lots of fun with granular synthesis. I've processed a couple of "field recordings" (weird sounds taken in my last apartment, really), like bath tub pipes screeching, stove vibrations created by the washing machine cycling next to it, etc. and created the atmosphere and textures out of that, among other things, and then put a glitchy beat on it. I'm quite happy with the mix + master, and getting faster at doing it. The track is on the darker side (it is the 13th week after all!). I should try to make a happy track in a major scale someday.

The mix of sounds in the intro is seriously sweet, love the drums too - great work wink

Awesome sounds here - great alien soda-can opening hi hats, like some awesome extra terrestrial samba

squids making computer music! So dark and industrial i love it!

No need to apologize! this is some dark texture tech wonderful!

There are some seriously cool sounds and textures in this.  I'm a big fan of found sound and love when it's used effectively as it is here.  This track is darkly atmospheric in a great way.

Some great percussive production going on here. Love the field sounds in there really adds to the overall ambience by feeling out of place to their original context.

Thanks everyone for your comments, it is always appreciated!

Processing power!

pretty nice. I got some goose skin when those weird percussions were setting in

Wonderful dark atmosphere there that works very well with the percussion.
You did excellent work creating the soundscape elements from found sounds.

Damn… some awesome texture and sound in this.  The low end is great!  I like how the beat came in and I pictured your washing machines becoming sentient and destroying the place smile  Cool track!

Great track, had a robotic feel to it yet sounds very organic and alive

this is scary! smile
nice production!

mmmhhhh, tasty textures and drones. Super crisp production and overall excellent track!

P.S. Major sucks :-)

Reading your description my advice is that sometimes you just nail it keep this stuff coming its great. The sound designs are great I am sure I can hear a kettle in there somewhere being twisted to sheet. This reminded me of some of the car ads we get on the TV here in the UK. Great work.

Cool track man!  I like when it starts to get denser and crazier.  Good depth and clarity.  Darker the better I say!  smile

Nice dark beauty, indeed!

nice sound design as well as arrangement!
