Dubstyle Vengeance

perhaps instead of calling this 'speed trash'... it is more of a 'speed catharsis'(?)... i say this because, although this track was made quickly in a single day, it feels like one of those tracks that captured the entire essence of me and the way i'm feeling right now('speed trash' is still a good term to mention here, though, as it sets it within the proper weeklybeats context where we often do some weeks' tracks really fast at the last minute, and having heard other producers do this and use this term, it encourages me to at least give things a good try at the last minute with the attitude that it may or may not turn out well, but i'll be glad by the end to get something done, simply for the pattern of making my neurons fire more and more easily towards motivation...
i think this one turned out pretty nicely, though...
i also think most of my tracks on weeklybeats could be considered some form of speed trash
).
made with (old-school version of) polyend tracker, and samples i recorded long ago of:
- me shouting into piano strings with the sustain/damper pedal held down(then editing-out the dry/attack portion of my actual shout and leaving only the trail of sustain from the strings after)
- piano strings 'prepared' with various things(erasers, paper clips, etc.)
- and pounding on piano strings with fist(while holding the sustain pedal down)
(these were made on my parent's piano, as i don't actually have one, and my father, who was alive at the time, was a bit annoyed but still let me do it so long as i didn't repeatedly go there to do so. i got good enough recordings, that i've never needed to harm their piano in a similar way since... Thanks, Dad! I miss you. R.I.P.
)
i will definitely use these samples/recordings again and again on more weeklybeats to come ![]()
