shish kabab

By Q-Rosh on August 4, 2024 11:09 am

this was week one of my holidays at home. I spend the first three days with listening and sampling beats and songs from a precious recordcollection that was parked in my house for this short time. I managed to check through 150 east cost early 2000 EPs, with all kind of versions. you can not immagine. very cool stuff and nice to discover, where they had samples from. Therefor I cleaned the LP`s with an effective treatment, which they needed strongly. On thursday I started the new track with a guitar, but my hiphopwithdrawal started and because "lack of time" I pitched and mangled a J-Dilla like beat,(something, I would normally do by myself ) to express my actual mood an appropriate way. I am ultrastressfree and do not have to cope with the situation in the clinic. the weather is not reliable, but it is OK to stay at home and making preparations for my birthdayparty on monday with an original Q-Rosh shish-kabab.

Well done, first sound that came to mind was Pavement, love the feel.

So many textures! That guitar wail at 0:46 was sooooo good. I loved the fuzzy guitar mixed with the cleaner guitar and the reverbs and echoes, a real festival. It feels peaceful and happy, in a simple and good way.

Happy birthday and a Q-rosh shish-kabab sounds absolutely fantastic! It's also good to see that you're away from stress from work and can relax.

The hiphop beat gives this one some catchy momentum and the whole thing gives me positive happy vibes.  Great guitar textures as always.  I think the sounds combine especially well here and create an intoxicating brew.  Happy vacation and happy birthday!  Hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy yourself.

holy wow, this one HAD MY NUMBER. immediately went back in for another listen after it ended (was so glad you took your time and let it unwind so naturally), and will definitely be revisiting. love everything about it - the slinky guitar, the crisp beat, the bass holding down the low end, all the cool little mix moves...
that you put this together in a week while on holiday, just incredible!

have a wonderful time off and a great birthday! so glad you are able to chill and let go of the stress. oh and Q-Rosh shish-kabab? i'm on my way  big_smile

yup i'm back  big_smile
can't help but sing over these chords, so tasty. ok!

Love the Dilla vibes especially with how the beat got introduced on that lil fill.  The bass and guitar take the groove to awesome heights.  Totally just sat back and imagined a laid back bbq with a couple of friends enjoying the good times. Sweet outro with the guitar too.  Hope you had an awesome birthday!!! Cheers! smile

hope your birthday was as carefree and lovely as this track!

oooh, tasty. I could flow with this all day. Great sounds and samples, not what was samples and what you played, and that's great. Love the guitars. The beat has that kind of stumbling along stutter feel, I hear some Dilla influence. Nice. Making me happy all throughout. I would raise my kabab high in the sky and say Happy Birthday!
Mine was Aug 1, fellow August people unite! A good month to be born.

Always fun to go through records and see what you can find, love how that beat slides in at 1:08, definite off grid dilla feel to it.  Lovely guitar and sounds through out, can listen to this on repeat on a sunny day relaxing in the backyard.  Hope you had a great birthday.  Any favourite ep’s you checked out?

Thank you for the comments

Dang this is sweet, the guitars are so cool. The beat coming in with the fuzzy guitar was such an immediately uplifting feeling. Good, stress-free vibes all around, crazy how much music can take on how you're feeling. Thanks for putting this positivity out there smile

Good time vibes all over this track.  Nice one!
