our birds

By Q-Rosh on May 19, 2024 11:58 am

this short track contains several recordings I made last week. I did some guitarloops and jams to it, beats on the SP404 and a short vocalsample from an old LP. Every morning I have a free concert made by our birds at 5am, which I recorded for 1 hour out of the window of my bedroom. Now you can have a listen to the sounds, that wake me up in the morning.

Lots of nice details here.  The guitars sound great as always, the vocal samples are interesting, and the birds provide a lovely accompaniment.

What an awesome journey of a track. big_smile These soundscapes and the composition as a whole are wonderful.

Totally sounds like something that would be played as opening theme in a detective TV series. Good vibes.

such a cool atmosphere, and really nice to hear your birds! we love hearing the dawn chorus and i often make little recordings as well.
please tell your birds that our birds say "hi"
have a great week, Q-Rosh  smile

Bird-tastic. Nice work :-)

The SP-404 always looks so cool and I'm always impressed with the grooves and sampling people get out of them.  Is yours the original or the newer model?  I like how the sampled bits progress into the 'dawn chorus' (learned something new this week yay!) and those outro guitars that come in with the bells sound so nice.. Like the sun is shining thru the window and you can't see out but you feel the warmth.

Woah! This is a birdsong!

I love how the track evolves, from the glitchy edits in the beginning to the birdsong and the guitar melody later on, very inspiring

man, I do not need an SP404, I do not need an SP404, I need an SP404. I am a sucker for samplers, nice job!

beautiful textures and the birds are so musical in the mix. really great vibe. love this, favorited and downloaded

The part starting around :48 is just mesmerizing, love the birds and the chords/melody at just the right volume over a chill beat. Not a bad way to wake up smile

Dear friend, thank you for your analysis and the question. It was the SP 404 MK2 I was making the beat with, using the isolator fx.
Yes, it is a great machine, I recommend it.
I also use the SP 404 SX beside my record player, so I can always catch a nice sample, when I listen to music and can use the same sd card in the new model to work with it. The SX Version is nice too and very cheap to find.

It was very nice to get the birds as guest appearance on this track. I always love the mix of the sound of nature and instruments, as if it were grounding the music and giving it a deeper context. The ending with the beautiful slightly fuzzy guitar was very nice.

Really fantastic sample layering and textures on this, and that guitar outro seals the deal. Love it!

beautiful track and interesting journey from section to section. i like the mixture of melancholy, almost mournful harmony with the joyful sound of birds. kind of like how a grey sky on a spring day can enhance the vivid green of the landscape. love the choppy spoken word sample too smile

Gorgeous mix. The sounds work well with the birdsong. We have mostly sparrows and black birds here, wonder what birds these are

I like the birds. I like birds. They can be loud but they are friends. I get sad when my cats catch one. Bad cat. Nice guitar playing later on. I really like what you did with the vocal sample too. I picture the weird voice stirring the birds up, they sing, then there is sweet sweet guitar to take us beyond and out to the starts. Nice creation here!

I like how it starts with vocal glitchiness and ends with the swirling organic guitar material.  Very cool indeed.
