MPC heaven

By Q-Rosh on August 11, 2024 7:20 pm

Second week of my holidays at home had been excellent. I wanted to explore my MPC1000 this week, because I wanted to learn more about boom bap. I also did some ambient music for the background, played the bassline through the entire song and added some guitartones to the beat. chill and have fun.

Vacation Q-Rosh is in THE ZONE
he boom, he bap, but most importantly he take nap

this one and last week's tracks could make a killer 7" single   big_smile

How sweet, I will immediately go and make a 7‘ record lathe. Thanks

i love that you can just go do that!

These hip-hop beats mesh really well with your sonic acrobatics.  A great groove with plenty of fun candy for the ears.
Seems like the vacation has been fun and productive for you.

Yes, I like your always fantasmical ambient sonic scapes over a nice chill boom bap beat (which hits just right by the way, nice MPC-ing). Good formula. I could just put this on for hours and get into the chill zone. Taking some holiday time and making music, great idea, hope you enjoy!

Great groove... and I really love the ethereal vibe you got going... like a really interesting soundscape that just washes over in waves but with a nice deep pocket in those drums tethering us and keeping it all going in the same direction.  Very nicely done.

This is really deliciously swirly and psychedelic in addition to the boom and bass, and a sharp crispy snare! Guitar really mellows it nicely, great track!

Giving me some old school Tribe Called Quest/Dilla vibes with the kick/snare combo.  The bassline sounds sick and nice and deep in the mix.  The extra guitar fx tones complete this groove.  Have you ever filmed the lathe process? Just curious how long that takes smile  I just export from ableton, you're exporting to to 7inch yais smile

This is such a nice execution of the boom bap style with the nice textures and vinyl crackle, reminds me of Fat Jon, Dj Krush, or early Ninja Tune.  Hope to hear some more of this, always one of my favourite styles of music.

Some good lo-fi MPC gang you got cooking here, love how the bass just sits in the back providing the glue.

TIL what boom bap is. Love how laid back this is - the beat, the vinyl crackle sounds, super deep bass, ambient sounds, it all feels great! Wish I was a student so I could study to this on repeat lol

what a jaaaaam, loving this one! Favorited

one of the best tracks this week! love it

yeah you nailed the boom bap feeling, drums sound the right amount of crunchy and the groove is bouncy

Yeah man, super hip groove.  I love how it's got the boom bap vibe but still with a layer of clicks.  It's great how the clicks go from vinyl type noise to rhythmic.

nice!
