hypnotized dissociation

By Q-Rosh on September 29, 2024 5:06 pm

Oh no. the track I wanted to make did not want to come to live. 2 times the recordings of several hours of hard work dissapeared or it came to a total crash after recording successfully. I had to do the same performances again and realized that sunday afternoon was to late to arrange, edit, eq and master about 68 audiotracks over 7 minutes of playtime each. that will be finished until next week, I guess. So instead I had a look into the M2K7 files he gave to me a month ago and created an effectpedalversion out of one loop. I coloured the groove, which was already pumping nicely. however, I am glad something else found the way out of my harddiscs.

Oh no! That hurts, Q-Rosh.
These textures are so rich and kinetic, though. What a pivot and cool technique for knocking out a track!

Sorry to hear about losing your hard work.  That's terrible.  It does seem like you've made the best of a bad situation and found a nice alternative.  Sweet textures.

I am sad to hear about the track getting lost like that, that must have been frustrating!

This new track is interesting. The background atmosphere sound remind me of a merry-go-round or of festival sounds, even with some distorted voices. The beat above it is near industrial, with the whoosh. I like how the track opens around 4:08, as if we're reaching a shore at the end of the journey.

Gah!!  The worst.  I've found my software DAW will tend to autosave so crashes aren't a big deal.  If you were recording onto MD or something though, that's probably a different story.  68 tracks of audio??!!  You're a maniac!   ðŸ˜‚

This was still a cool track.  A swirling pool of sound yet the constant train sounding pulse kept it propelling forward.

I'm sorry to hear about the lost recordings, I know the feeling and it hurts. The new track has a lovely atmosphere, so many layers and details, really well produced

oh buddy, that is so frustrating!! so sorry that happened.

i do love this pivot track! it really opened up after a few listens. i'm always impressed with your approach to music and how you are able to pull so many elements together into tracks that feel and sound so RIGHT.

hope things go smoother for you this week  heart

Software failures are the worst. If it's any consolation, the current track is cool in its own right. It's like listening to a party from another terminal at the same airport.

losing work is the worst, all that remains are the memories but trying to recapture an experience is often futile best we can hope for is to capture different one that is equally satisfying. Nice swirling textures over that beating sub.

Ugh, losing tracks like that is the worstest. Maybe the universe was telling you the tracks were so good that having anyone hear them would blow our minds too hard, haha, silly universes.
This one you managed to salvage is cool, has hypnotic beat and lots of interesting textures, lots to hear, all quite hypnotizing really!

oh q-rosh no!!!

you made something really lovely out of what you had at hand!

listening on laptop speakers & it sounds like surround sound - what a neat soundspace & what and enthralling mix!

Oof - sorry to hear it. But this turned out wonderfully and definitely hits the hypnotic mark. big_smile

Damn, this track took me places. It feels so liminal, like traveling through a public space as a ghost. Awesome job

Shoot, sounds like a huge amount of work! This is a lovely kind of ambient beat, just so much texture and all these otherworldly sounds.

Ouch that totally sucks about those crashes.  You perservered through all of that though.  Me I would have curled up in a ball quietly cursing my computer smile  Love the use of m2k7 loops.  They created an instant mood and atmosphere for the drums to groove and the bass to pulse.  It sorta reminded me of the Orb with their dubby basslines and even Pink Floyd's On The Run.  Excellent way to turn around those crashes.

Agree with Tone Matrix this does have an Orb like quality to it, glad you could put your personal touch on these loops and create this evolving piece.
