arrhythmia absoluta

By Q-Rosh on March 6, 2022 6:53 pm

This is a random beat of a Drumtraks (with eproms I have burned with an oberheim eprommer) caused by a program I was running on an Atari computer. There is no continuous rhythm developing and the Juno60 is randomly triggered by the Drumtraks. So it is not a composition I could regulate and control a lot while it was playing. An Korg MS20 is croaking along as well.
After listening to the result, it reminded me of the situation, when patients come into our emergency department with an arrhthmic heartbeat and I watch the EKG-monitordisplay and can see the heart makes what it wants. Maybe for a few moments it seems to be a Sinusrhythm, but it finally stays arrhythmic. Therefor we have some medicine or electroshocks, which I did not want to use for my song. In addition I have mixed some Rhodes piano in slow playback mode on the top. The whole atmosphere is a bit spooky, alienlike or just odd.
Better songs will follow.

The unpredictability made it interesting to listen to. There for sure is a bit of an ominous, spooky vibe to it as well.

It's like in life. Sometimes things are or seem to be not continous. But on closer inspection even in randomness lies a kind of regularity. The longer I listen to this song, the more it seems to have some structure and repetitive beat. Love that

This was super soothing to listen to. The deep bass and spread out beat sounded so good. Well done!

Holy smokes - Oberheim Eprommer, now that is old school.  Burning your own chips. I love the MS20 "croaking" in the background and all the experimentation that went into this. Quite the sonic playground.  The ghostly pads hold all the randomness together and the beats are super punchy. Nice!

There's such a nice mix of textures and really interesting use of space here.

This track gets juicy like I'm guessing heart valves are. smile What do you do at the ED? That sounds crazy

I found this soberly reflecting on the anxiety of our current times. Sincerely love your work, excited to be listening in on your stuff throughout the year. Stay safe heart

this is super interesting musically to me, really interesting technique and the results are evocative. Thanks for sharing the setup breakdown, it's inspiring!

The big low bass wave coming in and ebbing out - that's the MS20? Great sound. I like the background of the track, where you found inspiration in it. It brings an eerie vibe to this track.

Wow, yeah some old school gear for sure, fun. For sure a sonic playground, I get lost in it too, but the beat kinds of keeps thinks insistant. Love the "croaking" sound, so cool.

Very cool idea for a track.  Something very unsettling about the uncertainty (maybe just for me).  Love the instrumentation and sparse layering.

I think this song is great, that bass is so soothing, the random nature keeps everything interesting, the croaking sound certainly has an alien like feel

Really like the oldschool vibe and tone of this. Some lovely MS20 squelch for sure!
