This weeks theme was "stored energies". Encountering things that trigger an emotional response, especially a bad one, from an otherwise meaningless or insignificant observation or occurrence to someone else.

Verse 1
Dust accumulates
Hush in winter, might rush in spring
Cache of crystals in the cold
Just a nudge and the bank implodes
Sweet release
Carves the canyons with the springs
The roar of peace
Explodes beneath
Pre-Chorus
Fireworks rush down below
Sour taste I’ve come to know
Chorus
Burn let it burn
Burn Burn let it burn
The light will sing
Now only embers that you cling
Verse 2
Crystal pistol blue cascade
It’s official I’m afraid
All the things you chose to hold
At the end of fuse beneath the snow
Pre-Chorus
Fireworks glow up above
Sour taste I’ve come to love
Chorus
Burn let it burn
Burn Burn let it burn
The light will sing
Now only embers that you cling
My goal is to write better lyrics this year so I've been following the process and frameworks from Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison.

Encountering things that trigger an emotional response, especially a bad one, from an otherwise meaningless or insignificant observation or occurrence. “Stored energies”
Thinking I want to use snow stored on a mountaintop as a metaphor. The energy gets built flake by flake. If you let it stay cold it can trigger all at once in an avalanche. If you show it light, warmth, a new season, then it slowly melts and carves new paths.
Other metaphorical elements: rain, snow, sun, carved canyons, dam, etc.
