Tried something different this week and somehow the OPZ still ruined my day.

Turns out the piece is in 31/32 which made using the OpZ a nightmare in addition to it simply refusing to work with me. Resulted in using the OPZ as a box of synths/fx being controlled directly via the DAW.

Recently acquired an Intellijel Sealegs so this piece is heavily featuring it. Primary instruments are the OPZ, TT-303, x0xb0x, Moog Grandmother, and Rhodes piano. Since I wanted to engage a bit more of the studio this one is not dawless but is still heavily improvised.

Recorded/arranged/mastered in Logic. Only software fx are a touch of Pro-R on the output and mastering. Almost everything else is Sealegs.

My original plan was to add drums and turn it into my usual dance slop, but i wanted to just vibe with Sealegs for a bit.

Sorry about the background noise. Couldn’t really do anything about it. Have some ideas for next time, but mostly this is what I get for trying to make the OPZ do everything

Has a 70s rock feel to it

Very relaxing.

i think you did the right thing, and just let this vibe as is. this track is MAGIC.

i hate giving unsolicited feedback... but I am compelled!

sit down with this track, take your time, and really try to nail a magical performance for that lead synth and tighten up a bit of loose timing here and there (overall is fine, just one or two spots). it deserves just a bit of extra care and not be rushed for a wb.

this is a classic track.

glad i heard this!
