The Modern World

By Plantrain on May 11, 2014 9:29 pm

This week I revisited the distorted cello loops I used two weeks ago and based another track around them.
I wanted to try to use voice samples over a fairly static musical backing, and had the idea that I wanted samples from an old informational film (that by now would have entered the public domain) about the future as envisioned then. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but got close enough to keep the theme I had planned.
As I was working on this I realized that neither the basic tracks nor the voice samples were strong enough in my opinion to stand all alone, so I added some melodic instruments to round of the track.

Very BoC

sort of a mystical quality to it, neat

Trancin' out.  smile  Quite an effective track by the time you get to the end.

the bass towards the end is badass. Diggin the spherical mood.

Ah, yes, that bass at the end… makes me want to take out my cello. Next week?

Thanks guys, (and yeah, I must admit I'm quite happy with the effect of the bass at the end myself)

Great atmosphere! And I also dig that bass at the end!

You can almost imagine this being used against a film track nice and atmospheric.

Cool sound with the distorted cello.  I like the other sounds that come in as well.  Nice track.  Very atmospheric.

Excellent vibe

BoCish meets post-apocalyptic imagery is what I'm seeing smile  Love the flaring slow pulsing pad throughout.  Indeed the bass is super pleasing and made me want the track to go on another 5mins smile Nice job!
