Læsø

By Plantrain on July 22, 2018 11:15 pm

I've been on holiday for the last week on the beautiful Danish island of Læsø. I brought along a laptop, a portable recorder and a small keyboard, so no drum machines this week.
I recorded the surf at the beach one night and the crickets in the garden another night. Yes, I know that these are probably some of the most generic sounds there is, but together they are the soundscape that best represent my last week.
The rest of the sounds are Pianoteq piano, Absynth bass and a Reaktor mellotron choir.

Very cool that the soundscapes are what you are actually experiencing during the week. Heavy bass tone really anchors the floating piano even without the drum machine. I cannot pronounce or decipher the name of the island you are on but hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Great holiday souvenir.

Læsø figures in Norse mythology, as I recall (Danish High-School friend).

Nothing wrong with sampling what's around you and it makes for a very nice atmosphere.

I'm always a sucker for some nice nature soundscapes.  The surf has a nice feel to the piano and bass.  Also the bass sits so nicely in the mix with the piano it almost sounds like one instrument.  That island looks like a nice remote getaway. smile

That night time, low tide, surf is so gorgeous.  Well done.

Sounds very relaxing, how I imagine the vacation to be!
