Kepler's Pyramid

By Plantrain on December 7, 2014 12:18 pm

More NASA sounds this time, this track is based on three of NASA's Soundcloud samples.
Two of them are the 'sonified starlight' samples (Kepler: Star KIC7671081B Light Curve Waves to Sound and Kepler: Star KIC12268220C Light Curve Waves to Sound) from this playlist.
Also this sample: https://soundcloud.com/nasa/sts-132-shuttle-gear-drop, stretched from 8 seconds to run the entire track's duration.

Added drum machines, live percussion, software piano and acoustic guitar. Refusing to kill off any darlings in the process. Probably should have.

Pretty intense atmosphere... Some Paulstretch put to good use? wink

Heavy and dense, like dark matter

Love the massively slowed-down drums and the spaced bass thrums. Intense and scary.

so... interesting story...

2 years ago I did a trek at Christmas called the Kepler trek (New Zealand), named after the awesome scientist... on that trek I met one of the oldest living descendants of Kepler... it was like their great grandson or something like that... and his son.... it was a trip! for sure...

anyway... this is a phat tune... love the ambiance, the mystery and the guitar...

obviously sampling space is awesome... great idea...

actually love this tune...

keep up the good work...

lets collab next year....

love this track!

keep it up!

The big credit should go to whoever at Nasa came up with the idea to convert starlight into soundwaves, and then kindly released it so that we can make music with it.

I am definitely up for a collab come 2015!
