Something slightly different this week.
Most of my tracks start off as improvisations, but they tend to be edited heavily.
This week I decided to just improvise in layers over a programmed beat.
So in addition to the beat this is three takes of acoustic drums: snare drum, floor tom and cymbals, and one take of acoustic piano. Recorded in that order. More expressive than tight.

Aside from compression and some reverb, I've kept the tracks as I recorded them.

Has a nice winter feel to it.  Evocative of snowfall.

Definitely getting some cool imagery from the piano playing off the snare and toms.  Almost like a silent prisoner escape.  (Maybe i've had too much coffee) smile

Organic — a nice break from overly quantized.
