synth1 preset appreciation session

By pibolib on March 27, 2022 3:12 pm

The presets in Synth1 are pretty bad, but I can't really blame it. It tries to cover the General MIDI standard mostly with them, but it sounds like an old Yamaha keyboard with poorly made FM synth instruments. Synth1 shines in its ability to create powerful sounds, but you really can't do much with what it already has (although I've tried to use them in the past).

I spent most of this week working on a remix which I can't submit here, so I spent 30 minutes (yes) on a short song using only Synth1 presets (including all of the drums). The composition style is so simple, it reminds me of the songs I made back when I started making music in 2017.

Project time: 30 min.
