phliip - spring blossoms

Not gonna lie...

this took a lot longer than a week...

and to tell the truth... I don't think it's anywhere near finished yet.

Props to my man Nai-ik who beefed up some of my guitar ideas with his epic skillset, pedals and juicey amp + stack...

I miss the rock days...

These days I'm really interested in film music composition and the expanded skillset I would need to explore that particular area... Maybe next weekly beats I'll return with a midi keyboard and some music theory fundamentals and try and build out a whole new area...

anyway...

as always... I've left this upload till the last second... and it's sleepy time :-)

Hope you are good wherever you are!!

Oh that first guitar riff is funky and nasty (in a good way)! The beat is cool (the water plop!). The trumpet entering around 2:05 is a nice sonic touch, giving a different vibe to the track. Is that a live instrument? It sounds really natural.

That guitar is killing it and the brass section is a nice touch. Anything in particular you're looking to add?

Omg. Thank's so much for listening and leaving a comment.

I got the samples from various libraries and then cut them together... There is a British Jazz legend that lives in the same neighbourhood as me; and I was hoping to get him to re record them; but I think they sound pretty okay as they are for now...

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment!

I'm looking to add a Tom Morello style guitar solo. I actually already have one recorded, but I've got several takes and haven't worked through them yet; and I tend to find I get some form of writers block when I get to the end of a big labour intensive project.

I also really want to bounce the stems out and mix and master it properly; as opposed to my rough and ready default mix and master chain.

Thanks again for the listen!!
