We come in peace

By Phil Harmonic on January 8, 2012 2:34 pm

Well, here it is. This turned out a lot rougher than I had hoped. I waited until the last minute to choose which song I wanted to finish for my submission. The song features a juno 106, several flstudio 3osc plugins ,DMX drums and vocals by yours truely. After all of that talk about mastering, I ended up having to skimp on this one since I must sleep wink I think it sounds reasonable, Hope you all enjoy.

Sweet, I know you want a Roland Jupiter, JUST for that arp in there, haha.

hehe.. i have an arp in my Moog Slim phatty.. I could use it to arp the juno.. but it's much simpler just to use a software based arp. I like to play the juno manually anyways wink

love this, so funky!!!

thx sppoked wink

Here's a slightly better master http://www.jackanderson.net/wb/Phil%20H … r%202).mp3

*thought I'd reply to you here as it seemed more appropriate*
I do really like this track (catchy and funky, how could you not?) though there were no hooks that really caught me. I like hooks that grab you round the throat and force re-listens. Though, it's a brilliantly written and mixed track, REALLY looking forward to seeing what you come out with in future weeks!!!

@andrew haha thanks for the constructive criticism. I dont think my track for this week will be a pop hit either. Maybe next week I'll write a pop tune with fish hooks. Honestly I like to do deeper more reflective stuff. Stuff that isnt blatently obvious.  If someone isnt willing to listen further than for knee jerk responses, well, then they dont have to listen. My favorite part of "we come in peace" was the 6/8 bridge section.

FUNK!

This is a great tune, I really dig the main synth sound, it sounds very forward, like it's in my brain
