STRIVE

So this week I decided to try to figure out how to sample into the M8. So I recorded some of my noodling with a baritone ukulele on my phone, then sampled that into the M8 with a TRS cable, then did all the sample setup in the M8.

So this song features my ukulele playing and my M8 sample manipulation skills! I really enjoyed the process and I definitely learned a lot about both.

As for the song, I struggled to decide how to fill out the arrangement ... always trying to add enough, but not too much. I'm still unsure about some of the stuff I added and didn't add ... but I guess that is why music is challenging to make!

Oh and the lead in/out was a bit of an experiment ...

I expect I'll be trying to do more sampling of some instruments I've got hanging around here for future songs too.

the baritone uke is really nice touch - lovely track!

Thank you!

nice!

Very pleasant ukulele, and I like those synths. I think what you can add here is some variety in the melody. It's fine as it is, if you want to make kraut rock, but if not, moving instruments around can only do so much. You have 12 notes worth of an octave, don't be afraid to use them.

Thanks! Yes, I feel this one needs a bit more variety too. I tried a few things, but ran out of time before I found anything that I felt was suitable. I'll keep working on it though! And I'll check out some Kraut Rock so I know what I'm making lol!
