ORGAN JAM

By PeterM on December 8, 2024 7:24 pm

I had the groove for this one fairly early in the week and I hoped to be able to build on that, but then life happened. So it sat untouched until Sunday when I found a few hours of space to try to make something resembling a song. I tried a few things and settled on this organ jam. I recorded a few minutes of my improv and then tried to chop it and mix it up with the M8 into something kinda coherent. It's the best I could do with the time I had. I'm pretty happy with it and I hope to be able to revisit it again later to build on this foundation to make a complete song. Anyway, it feels good to be uploading this after the challenges this week. I hope to get caught up on commenting on all your songs this week too!

this is cool as hell. I got throwback phil collins vibes at the beginning. Some juicy jams in there. Nice one

That groove is FANTASTIC. Those bass/kick hits were just pure candy, and I was anticipating the hit the entire track. That organ solo gliding over the top was perfect - great jam, awesome groove.

The basic groove is quite swingy, with a solid bass and that Faltenmeyer-esque arps on the background... feels like Axel F is looking for clues inside a expensive office while the evil execs are on the way back, talking money in the elevator...

The Axel F comment above is right on the money.  There's a cool groove, but also a nice sense of tension.

Dude, YES!!!!! I LOVE this organ improv, it's so damn good!!!! Funky and BRIMMING with stank, just how I like it!!! Incredible. Also impressive to read that this was done kind of in a crunch! Curious to hear what else you do with it if you ever do build it out.
Awesome work, as always!
