CONFIDENCE

I was trying to get a different songs together for this week, but I just wasn't able to get it to come together the way I wanted. So, put that one on the back burner and had another go at a spacey tune again. I have always been a fan of this style of music and I'm enjoying making them.

The plucky bits, bass, and drums are all M8 synths. The drums are the Dirtywave FM Drum pack, which I am really liking. The lead part is played on the Hydrasynth again this week, as well as the little arp lines in the chorus.

Due to time constraints I've been approaching my Weekly Beats tracks like sketches that I hope to come back to and flesh out later. I think this song could use a B section or a break of some sort. Also, some pads for atmosphere and, maybe, a spoken vocal part would add some interest too. But clearly, that ambition exceeds my capacity at the moment!

Ooooohhh, the synth at 1:50 is SO nice!!! Also the one at 2:50, just great!!!
I'm super envious of how you're able to make these longer tunes without things feeling repetitive at all.
And I think this is 100% the right approach for WB - these are mostly sketches/ideas that you get to flesh out later if you feel like it. I'd love to see/hear what vocals here would sound like!
Anyways, fantastic job as always, man!!!!

Thanks! You know, I can never tell for sure after working on a song for hours ... it always feels like it needs more, but maybe that's just because I've been listening to it for hours!

Man, I love your comments ... they are always so enthusiastic! Ha ha! So, that synth that you like is a patch I keep coming back to. It might end up becoming a signature sound for me, I just find it works with everything. This track was feeling a bit repetitive to me when I uploaded, but after not hearing it for a few days, maybe it's sounding better when I listen to it again. Maybe if I didn't wait until Sunday to make a track, I could let it sit for a few days before I upload ... ha ha ... or just go with whatever works in the moment probably is best!
