AMBIENT AIR

By PeterM on August 25, 2024 10:48 pm

I've been doing some work in a space that has a floor fan running more or less non-stop this week and I've found myself humming melodies to the "note" that the fan is "playing". So I decided to just have a single drone bass note on this week's song too. I was going to just have an ambient track with no percussion, but I caved and added some ... I like the feel of ambient with drums, so yeah, there it is.

Anyway, I'm pleased with how this one turned out. I would tweak it some more if I had some more time, but I'm happy with it as is though. Sorry, listening to this after uploading I'm hearing a few pops that must have been amplified by the render. No time to fix them!

M8 percussion, lots of Hyrdasynth sampling for the synth parts this week.

Congrats on another week finished!

Oh I like this a LOT. The single bass note keeps the creepy factor grounded in the middle of the synths that fade in and out. Lovely ringing sounds along with the pads - it feels like dark underwater or possibly a dimly lit attic with a few shafts of moonlight shining on lazy dust motes. The percussion was a solid decision.

Haha! Thanks man! This was sort of the genre that got me wanting to make my own music, so I'm going to take your enthusiasm and put it to work making some more tunes like this! wink
