Up There

Came back today on a flight. Again I though about including some life recordings.
I came back and played some bossa stuff on my classical guitar and then thought about the flight recording I made in the morning.

The guitar is a bit off rhythm here and there (damn) but as I was recording people came in and I didn't have time to make a new take (you can hear the door opening at the end).

I would have loved to add a solo on it, but for today I am done. Still I wanted to give a travelling vibe to the song and I hope I made it to some degree.

Recorded on my iPhone using mic recordings and BandLab. In general, I have no idea about mixing and mastering so I hope I will get better soon! Also, I have no idea about doing it on BandLab.

Despite all limitations, I am really happy that I came up with something this week!

Enjoy it!

Really nice playing!

Thanks for taking us on your trip! Seems like time flies when you are making music! Cool electronic bossa beat! The phaser on the cymbals goes well in the clouds!

Very nice! Can definitely feel the travelling vibes here!

LOVE the airplane recordings. Inspires me to do more sounds of life sampling. It really does set the stage for a travel adventure.
Great guitar and guitar effects.
Now I want to go somewhere but its negative out, so I'm not leaving the house.

definitely sounds like this would fit right into a movie scene where someone's traveling and its a montage of shots of the character in a car or train ride. loving the phaser effect usage!! well done!

Being off-rhythm is a feature of Bossa Nova, so you did well here.
Loving the traveling vibes.

thanks a lot for the change of perspective on the rhythm thing. but yeah sometimes I find it hard to come up with an idea and learn it quick enough so not to make any mistake during the execution

I am glad this gave you a nice movie-scene-feeling! I am trying these days to record stuff from real life and musicalize them. I feel it can be a nice project generally.

as I said abovee, I am trying to include more life recordings into music, so I am happy to was sort of inspiring for you! now I am wondering how to upgrade my gear to get better sound quality. as I mentioned everything was phone recorded. any recommendations?

Regarding better ambient/life recordings the only thing that comes to mind is a zoom field recorder. Curious what other suggestions people have.
