Sunday Bossa

By Pescadito on March 24, 2024 11:55 pm

Hi all! A late description of the song upload 'cause yesterday I was too tired to write anything (I have finished super late... like always).

I came up with a bossa tune based on some chords I have been playing around for some time and wanted to do something with. I then was watching some YouTube videos on how to get a song idea when you don't have one (ahahaha) ... and so I started to listen to some songs until I remembered some tunes by Saib (https://saibeats.bandcamp.com) that I liked.

I wanted to make a chilled beat that puts together a bossa guitar rhythm with some more hip-hopish drums.

I ended up quite tired but sort of satisfied, as I started the session only around 19:00 yesterday evening, which did not gave so much time to do a lot of editing, mixing and mastering.

Started with the guitar and then spend quite a long time finding the right groove, combining a drummer (Maurice) and percussionist (Finn) form GarageBand. I would say the most fun part was the bass line for me, while I struggled quite a lot finding a good guitar sound and something to play. But, hey, that's it for this week!

Hope you'll enjoy!

Perfection!

wow, such a cool listen! love the beat and harmonies! tight drums and really nice drops! classic guitar is great, and the solo guitar is very cool, even tho it's hiding in the shadows for the most part. but nice playing, and there's good amount of space, not too many tracks fighting for attention.

lots of ambient low end noise, not sure where it's coming from, wild guess but is it recorded at MuVe? big_smile  in a way it's not interfering too much with the beat, let's just call it lofi big_smile if this was a more artsy piece, you could have a section with just the noise, sounds a bit like mongolian throat-singing hehheh. cheers!

I'm floating! Very soothing. Exactly the thing I need right now smile

ahahah the mongolian throat-singing is actually just the guitar amp sound from GarageBand (they need to fix their equipment maybe eheh). it was kinda annoying to play with it but then I decided to keep 'cause I thought it was actually helping keeping the piece together and, yes, it gives a lo-fi feeling to the song.

but, hey, thanks for the kind feedback! I had fun and frustration at the same time with this piece ahaha. I realized the solo guitar was a bit sacrificed but then, unfortunately, I was too tired to fix it
