Another experimental week!!! Usually i make a cover artwork for every track after finishing it. So this week i did it the other way around:
I made the artwork first. Then i took it and used it with a bunch of different "image to sound" plugins and apps. Sure, some of the sounds were tweaked a bit and arranged in ableton, but everything you hear originates in the image above. It was quite a lot of fun not knowing the exact sonic outcome beforehand and experimenting with the different "visual" synthesis approaches.

I used the following apps:

Virtual ANS (iOS, Win, Mac, Linux):

Pollisynth (iOS):

VOSIS (iOS):

Phonopaper (iOS, Win, Mac, Linux)

Harsh Digital Noise (VST, Mac/Win)

Wow! This is amazing! I'm gonna have to check out some of those plugins. I'm stoked the experiment had such an enjoyable outcome. Well done sir!

Very cool idea with excellent results.

Excellent use of the various apps.  I've played with a few of those but have yet to actually record with any.  Well done.  The track is very cool indeed and it avoids the usual spectral type sound.

Fantastic; very impressive. The only visual > audio software I've ever heard of was Metasynth.

And nice original artwork, as well.

Keep up the experimental coolness. Glitchy, soundtracky, and very interesting. This is the kind of creativity I can get behind!

A cool idea, and an amazingly musical result! I'm impressed and inspired to try out some of that software myself

Had a go on ANS myself but could not find the time to tame that beast sounds like its worth persevering.

Who keeps putting all the cool animated gifs they are awesome.

euphoric! lovely textures. so cool.

Outstanding that you pulled off this concept and made it sound like any other track, I tried this once and failed.  Keep up with the experiments, great fun to listen to

Nice track! Virtual ANS is amazing, just like the original: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANS_synthesizer

My ANS-related experiments were in the realm of changing the source image to create music, but that it a tough one to crack

Excellent abstract art, with outstanding sonic translation.

Great sounds and glitch and mix. Interesting composition method too. Well done!

I love the idea of the image to sound plugins.  The outcome is awesome too.  It's really cool how the music fits the imagery.  The sounds are so unique too, I really want to give t his a shot at some point when I'm not procrastinating smile  I like how heavy it gets toward the end and just takes on this swirling effect of madness (the good kind). Awesome job!

Wonderful use of those plugins! I had an eye on ANS but didn't knew where to start... This is pretty inspirational, plus an extra thanks for sharing your tools!

By the way, great Autechre-ish drums and atmosphere. Awesome as usual

hmmm I surely need to check out that phonographer thing...
also your design skills seem as great as your composing abilities
