The forest is not OK

Second Weeklybeats submission! At this rate I'll have a solid 5-8 tracks done by next year. :-D

Got the Octatrack 14 days ago today. This is the first thing to come of it. This machine is a blast, can't wait to dig in deeper.

Not sure what genre this is. Unless "Murder Carnival Forest" counts. Lots of random LFOs drive the glitches and reverb and stereo swings, making this track somewhat generative. I ended up hitting record and just playing it over and over, as each take had unique qualities about it. I also used an LFO that I designed to modulate several parameters to give some of the glitches a recognizable rhythmic pattern.

Forest sample from Freesound.org. Four-letter word by me. Made on Octatrack MKII, some saturation and EQ from Analog Heat MKII with more EQ, compression and recording handled by the 1010Music Bluebox.

Thanks for listening!

The panning of this track. It feels like the water like sound in the back moves slowly, undulates from left to right. Very interesting use of percussion. I like how you make the static react to the rest of the perc. This is an inspiring track.

Feels more like a cave, I guess because of the drippy sounds

Thanks Kedbreak136 and Devieus!

Yeah, the random reverb spikes definitely make it sound like a cave at times.
