City Nights

By perman00b on July 7, 2024 6:17 am

Been too crazy the last two weeks to finish anything, but I noodled some stuff that ended up coming together in a way I like in time for this week.

Set the Pluto aside and tried my hands at an exercise in structure and intent as a way to familiarize myself with the Hapax song mode.

Michigan Synth Works Xena, Hydrasynth Desktop, Elektron Syntakt, mixed and recorded on 1010 Bluebox. Bluebox also provided FX.

Nights are beautiful on a space station. So are the days for that matter.

lol I can never tell if you’re low-level trolling me. 🤣 Either way I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. ❤️

Great arps, sound choices and modulation.

It's legit, it just gives more a space station vibe than a city vibe. Plus, it's always night in space.

Some parts remind me of some of john cage's compositions where repetition is key to convey the sense of movement. And I'm with @devieus on the space station vibe!

Wow! Quite the change of pace from your ambient pieces, and I like it a lot. Sounds really polished - definitely putting that gear to good use (I'm no conoisseur when it comes to FX or reverb but I think the ambience sounds really lovely in this track). Love the sound design - the drums, bass and lead parts work really well together. It's hard to pick a favorite but the bass sounds particularly good to me, love all the variations. Great track.
