samples, sine waves, etc.
my intros are always way to long, gotta start working on that more.
regardless kinda liked how this one turned out.

I know what you mean about intros. You wanna build to something, but it's hard to balance that with something that'll catch folks' attention. Anyway, good song!

i made a long intro this week and feel like it was a disaster lol... betting to drop into the meat asap and explore texture in a break or outro i think. but this is nice smile

This is really lovely. I dig the long intro. Helps build up the vibe!

You can put drums and stuff in intros, no one will chastise you for it.

I think the intro is just fine and fits the dreamy vibe of the track overall.  The drums being introduced later gives it that waking dream feel too smile

haha think i needed to hear this for some reason. that'll be the goal for next week, get it going w some drums in the intro.

exactly, it's a tough balance for sure. i think i've just realized in my listening habits that unless its ambient music, i like things to jump right in. so i'm trying to find a way to emulate that in my songwriting in a way that feels organic.

gotta check out your track, but yeah that's a good idea, saving it for the mid-section. makes the final act all the more exciting too.

many thanks for the support guys! glad the intro happened to work alright for this one, steady builds seem to be my songwriting style of choice these days.

Sounds like subway train samples. Really big sounding mix. Very 3 dimensional. I don't think the intro is too long. Seems like a natural progression and the track evolves nicely.

thanks! it's actually a sample of radio interference that occurs when you drive through an automated car wash (pulled it from a clip on youtube). can definitely see how it sounds like a subway w/ the effects and chatter though.
