The Last Time I Saw You

I have no idea where the session file is for this track, so this was an exercise in post-post-production. I used a limiter and an equalizer. I did a low cut and then a mid-low boost to increase the bass guitar and the kick drum sound. The original track was pretty flat. There is a music video that accompanies this, I'll find it and post it in the future!
I wrote this song many years ago. The song is supposed to be about nostalgia, so it's kind of perfect to finish the song when I have nostalgic feelings about writing the song itself! I produced it on ProTools, back when I bought ProTools because I thought I had to have it to be "legit". Was I ever so young and naive? :-)
The guitar is made by hitting a spoon against the strings. I was really inspired by the band Macha (particularly the track "The Nipplegong") but didn't have access to any awesome instruments, so I made my own version! It was really weird trying to do chord forms while pressing down with one hand. I remember kneeling on the floor and going crazy. Funny how all those memories can come flooding back. I remember the texture of the carpet.
So much of this track was improvised. Some crazy harmonies happen as a result. The structure was also improvised. This song is really like nostalgia for me. Feelings and pictures and images flooding back with no real structure - just a wash of feelings and notes...
..................I'm trying to recall now.....when was the last time I saw you?
