¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Uploaded with seconds to go.  SWEET IRONY.  The mixing has issues, accidentally left wrong stuff in WHATEVER.  I'll fix it and reupload a thing whatever.

The song is about not winning or losing but just trying, so it's perfect that this song got messed up and I ran out of time.  My challenges to myself:

1) Play my new 12-string guitar
2) Don't play an E chord like I always do
3) Don't do a guitar arpeggio like I always do
4) Don't do an EQ drop out like I always do

The volume of the end chorus is too loud.  The vocal accidentally comes in early and that was left in by mistake.  Didn't do the car speaker test to see how the fuzz bass was.

Lyrics:

Can somebody tell me if I'm worth anything?
It's not right; I can't explain
I almost believe the awful words that they say
They run laps inside my brain.

Invisible forces want to pull me away
SMILE AND NOD CAUSE THAT'S THE GAME.
They say I'm not welcome; they say I can't stay
But they're the first ones for running away.

IT'S FINE.
IT'S NOT LIKE I ALMOST DIED.
WHERE WAS I AT THE TIME?
WHEN THEY JUST STOOD ASIDE?

No more comparison and begging for worth.
It turns to stone only when you gaze
Everything crumbles in the light of the day
And they don't own me cause I was here first!

Not that I won, not that I lost, but I tried.

This rocks. Other than the minor production flaws you note, this is awesome!  One of my faves of all the submissions I’ve ever heard on WB.

You tried very well, this is a lovely tune. Love how CRONCHY it is smile

that 12 string sounds amazing

Great track. Has a nice live feel. Drums are a little flat, would love to hear the no-deadline remix. wink

Man, sounds perfect! Can't imagine it any other way.  Smashy blown out drums sound awesome against the cleaner 12-string. Awesome bass vocals at the end, too.  Maybe panic and rush are a beneficial production technique to the raw truth of the song? Downloading smile

I don't know if this was intended to be uplifting but this song really breathed some energy into my night. Good job.

Hi 12 string, I'd like you to meet, 7 string. Seriously though this is incredible. It's like this crazy mash up of time, everything from the Beatles, to Oasis, to Little Big Planet. Crazy good.

Beautiful chord progressions and guitar tones as always!

Great guitar tone! Tried to find out the chords, is it D Dmaj9 C G? Haven't been figuring out guitar chords in a while, your song inspired me to do it! Also love the vocals, they sound like they have been recorded in one take with no post-production, no lining up and tuning, with all little imperfections left over, very genuine sounding song

i enjoyed this even more, the drums make it all come together

really dig this song, nice work!!

The fuzz bass is the winner!  Nice work pulling all this together.

This is a hella good indie rock song. Reminds me of the Kinda thing that would be on the radio back in the days when The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse (etc.) were dominating

Wow, very unexpected - nice work, reminds me a bit of James (the band)

Love this chord progression soooo hard

its fine , its not like i almost died

i love that

This is great! Really dig the 12-string. I like the loose feel. Sort of a Guided By Voices vibe in that respect. Well done!

derek thinks you are worth something & likes you & raw track worts & all wink

OOOhhh nice guitar!

That's all that matters. Except when it isn't.

Damn, this rocks! Catchy, airy, nice saturation on drums. You can sing too. Congrats.

Great lyrics, you got an awesome voice, drums sound fantastic

Nice fat drum sounds! I'm always impressed on WB. The stereo image with your vocals is super interesting toward the end. Very sweet tune.

double that!

Awesome drums!  Had me grooving along the second they kicked in.  Your vocals have a nice effect in the mix too.  Catchy as hell melody too.  Yais!

Great Song
It Sounds like a live track, in a positive sense
