What a cool concept for a song. Thanks for sharing both the track and your story about the artwork!

Doo-fukn-wop!!!!!! Sick work dude, something fresh from something old!!

A+ all-around stellar! great vox and lyrics, instrumentation (the trumpet, so rad!) and vibe - so good!

This song is making me happy. It has a great sound and idk it's just really dang pleasant? I'm pleased.

Thanks for the story and this artwork. Sometimes the point of art to not be something but be something to inspire other things.

Really enjoyed the video aswell. Your moving camera seemed to also work very well.

Cool! My daughter is in first grade now. This is a good reminder of how important things at this age are!

Good stuff. Digging it smile

Cool brass also !!

Maybe at some point this year I'll try doing some video blogs because this seems like a pretty cool format, and I especially like seeing/hearing you describe the story and influences behind your songs. However, I sure as hell won't be doing the performance/music video bit because even that is too much work for me haha. I'm really enjoying your videos (especially the camera tricks) and this song is really cool! I can't seem to put my thumb down on what it reminds me of though. Just a really solid indie rock song I suppose!

And oh shit, you play trumpet!

So good! Well written song, so nicely performed, recorded, and mixed. SECRET INSTRUMENT solo was a really tasteful addition.

Oh I'm so glad I learned how to watch the video. Just another great song

This is awesome!  I'm liking the video idea, you can really see how much work went into this.  Very well done all around, love the vocal harmonies.

Oh dude... this is so good. Opening night principle 2 weeks in a row. Loved the video too, the shot where you drag the camera along is super fancy. I promise I'll lift my game for next week's video, it's going to be the big one... I meant it when I said you were going to be in some lyrics hahaha

I am really enjoying the videos, they really add to the fun and love for it all. Terrific song, too!

The video really takes it to another level. Between the background of the track, the creativity that goes into the track and the video itself, the quality of the editing. Making a track each week is hard enough, I cannot imagine having to record a video and edit it on top of it! But please do continue, this is an awesome experience.

Amazing song! Lovely story too! What a great painting! I like your style of backing vocals, and I say style cause I feel like it's definitely yours, rather than trying to copy something else as far as I can tell big_smile

Oh do you know Peter Cat Recording Co.? It's a band I discovered recently that this song reminds me of! Maybe you'll enjoy!

So if I get this straight, you'll have 52 bangers by the end of the year, which is what 3 albums? Dope! big_smile Keep it up!

Love the acoustic drums and the 60's vibes.

Sounds really good man. And those Trumpets tracks are boss.

Omg the trumpet is great!

Great track with a great backstory!  I don't know how the heck you're going to keep doing these fancy videos on top of a track every week, but good luck to you!  The video component really is an excellent touch.

Cute track! I really like the spacious mix and how it feels like you're at a live concert with the trumpets  around 02:10. Keep it up!

great song. You are an artist fantastico.

Orange Drink...more like Orange Dog! Ey? Ey! ... ill see my self out of your comment section. great track btw.

loved the backstory as well. i also listened to the song first, then read comments, then watched the video. it was great to experience it without context, and then with. awesome

Dooooooo Wop! yais!  Loving these videos especially with the backstory and awesome ingenuity with the dolly_pully_thingy_cam! Yay for Orange Drink Dawg mascot!  Once again the vocal harmonies are suhweet!  I used to play coronet back in middle school.  I still remember the C major scale lol.  Did you empty your spit valve! tongue Looking forward to next week!

Absolutely, positively awesome.

Just destroying it this year!  The music on it's own is great, trumpet sounds so dope, the addition of the video is so fun, I'm sure it is so much work but hope you can keep up with the videos.  Thanks for sharing the story at the beginning of the video.

Grooving in 6/8. I like the idea of the spacious break before the solo. Hearing it I first thought it was an outro.

(PS: This is off topic, but I’ll write here, because I reckon you’ll see it. Could you check in on the weekly beats chess tournament post in the forums? We have enough players to start the tournament now, so if you still want to participate, I need a chess.com user name to set it up.)

Bro, what the hell!

This is so cool and unique.  Sounds like Tool singing over a Beatles song.

Wow, awesome blending of styles while still keeping it Orangedrink! And those horns!! I can see it's not going to be a boring year.  Thanks for bringing it!

Holy brass doots! A trumpet! That was a surprise, and it was worth it. This is another awesome one, the video is so fun to watch, great job with that, fast stuff, and angles, just wow. Props and much respect, you've put in the work! I like the diy zooming camera dolly, I imagined it was the painting coming toward you. Great idea for song too. It's amazing how seeing a painting and hearing a song can change a life! Mind blowing

Orange Drink keepin it kreative! Nice to be here!

I find that the video even makes me hear the song differently (in a good way) so it's really cool.  glad you liked it!

Thanks so much, i'm really excited that you said "add to the fun and love for it all" because that's 100% how I feel about music.  Don't get my wrong, I hate WeeklyBeats though smile

It's a lot of work, not going to lie, but I gotta do it for MUH KEDBREAK heart Thank you for being so involved in it - it's very gratifying to know that what I do will be enjoyed/appreciated by you and the WB family.

Glad you were into the painting too!  Thanks for the kind words about "my style" - I guess I'm just trying to use my voice to the full extent of its ability....that and I listen to a ton of Beatles wink

I'll check out that band, thank you!  And lastly, hopefully the plan will be to officially release most of the WB content (including previous years!)

I got my guitar and drumset specifically for those 60s vibes, and I feel like this song/arrangement really leaned into it.  My first time recording with brushes!

OOH!  Huge compliment about "live concert" - I really wanted to trumpets to feel grand in the mix.

Wow, you get an A++ for listening to the track twice!  I'm really humbled and honored that you spent all that time with it!

After I started writing the song, I was like, "Is this doo wop?  I hope it is" and you and Nyarlos confirmed it THANK YOU glad you like the vocal harmonies, that was a big moment for me.  That's awesome that you played brass!  and my doggo (Diez) says thank you for the kind words smile

I have to keep doing it now, right?  I'm going to sleep all of January 2023, I think.  Glad you liked the song, trumpet, and the story!

I'm signed up!  I don't think I ever set out to do 6/8 but I feel like it is one of my favorite grooves.  Glad the fake-out faked you out!

WOW incredible concept about the painting coming toward you!  I'll never see that the same again now.  I am grateful for your kind words about the video.  I've been passionate about filmmaking for a long time and I've never really had a good outlet for it.  This is a huge headache and very intimidating to do on top of WB obviously, but it feels great that it's "hitting" with people - and even that you're getting things out of it that are influencing me in return heart
