Wolf-Rayet

Turns out that there's a bit more one-guitar juice left in the tank. This week I'm using the $35 Heit Deluxe I keep in Turkish baglama tuning (GgDDAa). The pickups are...oddly bassy, so two of the tracks get high-pass Auto-Filter, while one gets EQ-8 with attenuation under 90Hz. There's a church-sized convolution reverb and a touch of Valhalla Supermassive on the center track.

The title comes from the source of the Thor's Helmet nebula (IC 468)--Wolf-Rayet star HD 56925. (This didn't feel like a "Thor's Helmet" track, and in any case there's no evidence that Vikings really used the horned helmets. It's a cool nebula, though.)

Wow you have a Heit Deluxe! How did you end up with that kind of instrument? These weird old vintage guitars have a certain charm, like a 3 legged dog. That's a very nice instrumental track. The tuning you use there is intriguing, i find it interesting how different tunings open new doors for new tracks.

Hey are you planning to continue in 2023? I will certainly continue and was thinking to do the Weekly Streak like last year. What do you think?

Thank you! I bought the Heit on eBay for $35 in...2004? I was doing performances with 4-6 guitars, and some players didn't want to restring their own instruments for unison tuning...so I bought a couple cheap ones for those shows. Later I put them in other tunings: the Heit in baglama tuning (influenced by Erkin Koray's electric baglama) and the other cheapie in Nashville high-strung.

I'd had to glue the fretboard back on the Heit. It's a bit raw...but it has a voice!

I'm planning to! I'll be over at Streak Club, I'd imagine. You're certainly welcome to participate!
