Sandmount

Another fingerpicking piece on the microtonal Tele Deluxe. This grew out of the first and last pattern you hear, which turned out to be in 5/4, so I kept with that...except for a stretch in the middle that wanted to be 6/4. Same guitar, which made intonation slightly easier, but I'm still getting used to the closeness of these frets, so you hear some notes that aren't fretted quite cleanly. Interestingly, I'm getting comfortable enough with the fret scheme on the JI guitar that I was able to let loose with a little flourish in a couple places.

No inline effects, but the right channel had the UA Volt vintage circuit on, so has some grit to the louder notes. Otherwise, there's the usual convolution reverb and multiband eq/compression on the stereo channel.

Listening to this in a noisier environment, I found that it's necessary to be able to set that initial downbeat in your mind. If that's not set, this ends up sounding fairly chaotic.

The title comes from Sandmount in Ireland, off of R572.
