Republic

Another quick track--I came up with drums Friday night (Ableton 64 Pad Kit Jazz), and tracked guitar and bass in a quick Sunday afternoon session, arranging and mixing just before the deadline. Transitions are...more sudden than I'd like, and I should have put reverb send on the drums. But it's a mood.

Drums get Max Humanizer and an automated send to an echo return.

Guitar: PureSalem Mendiola through Vox Wah, each channel getting high-pass filter with drive, and send to a convolution reverb.

Bass: 80s Epiphone P-J with both pickups on. EQ-8 low-end rolloff and some reverb send.

The title comes from 427 BCE being the birth year of Plato, and...the nature of republics is on my mind at the moment.

i've had republics on the mind too...
lovely piece - i'm trying to go to sleep the loud neighbors are stressing me out - this calmed me right down

Thank you, Emily! I'm glad this one was helpful for you!

even while sounding so beautifully pensive and calm, those guitars got a heroically defiant feel to em heart

Thank you! I think it's that chord progression--there's definitely an attitude there!

The bass is chill, but the guitars are full of life. Well done.
