Parthenon

By onezero on May 22, 2022 11:30 pm

Here's one recorded fairly quickly--a session for both guitars late Saturday night, and a session for bass Sunday afternoon, followed by edit/mix. I'd thought about going for drums too--they'd certainly work here--but there isn't quite enough time left to make the drums good. So we have two guitars and a bass.

Guitars: PureSalem Mendiola with Bigsby, straight into the Focusrite, and no inline effects. Recorded to a click.

Bass: 80s Epiphone Embassy II,. just the P pickup, with some EQ-8 low-end rolloff.  Recorded to a click--the guitars were loose enough that I needed the click for the bass session.

Sends: one room-sized convolution reverb

Stereo channel: Ableton's Wide&Warm mix/mastering preset.

The title comes from 438 BCE being the year the Parthenon was finished.
