Long Wall

By onezero on July 31, 2022 11:50 pm

Still mining the one-guitar approach. This one's three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola with no effects: just convolution reverb send. I'd started with the motif you hear in the center channel at 0:38, and built up responses to it. (Later responses were strong enough to get more track time than the initial figure.) As usual, there's the audio effect rack (Wide & Warm preset) for eq/compression on the stereo out.

The title comes from Athens starting construction of the middle section of its Long Wall to Piraeus in 448 BCE.

oh this is such dreamy summer sunday night vibes - thank you!

Listening together with SO tonight, and we both think this is gorgeous heart (+fav)!

We've also been on an ancient Greece kick for the last few months, so the backstory for the name was also appreciated; had some fun looking up the Long Walls just now.

The one guitar makes it very easy to get onboard with it.

Well the Wide & Warm + CReverb makes this so fullbodied and soothing as your melodies and call and response play out. Really nice - thank you!

I didn't initially think this was my kind of thing, but it really won me over and now I've listened to it three times. Thanks!
