Very busy weekend, necessitating just two quick tracking sessions and a one-hour editing session (shaving a minute off) right before the deadline. I'd thought to do something sparse (starting with the left-channel motif that begins it), and the rest of it--melodic, leading me to good chord progressions--just built itself.

This is all PureSalem Mendiola right into the Focusrite, against a click. They got different high- and low-pass auto-filter with drive, Utility to bring the level down, and sends to one of two convolution reverbs, with one send of Valhalla Supermassive on the right channel. There's Wide&Warm finishing audio rack on the output.

(Listening back, I could hear some clips inadvertently slid out of time, so thanks to @aday on the Discord channel for the re-up link. Looks like my post date got moved to last week. It was really right before the deadline, though.)

The title (again, chosen last minute) comes from Aristophanes' play of that name having its premiere in 424 BCE.

Surprisingly high pitched for you, no bases this week?

I did a series last year with just guitars (no bass, no drums), just to see how it'd go as a compositional constraint. This past weekend, I had less than an hour spread over two days to track, so...revisiting the just-guitar approach seemed like the most efficient way to get one done.

Always good to hear one of your tracks, even when it's more sparse than the usual ones.

that guitar is so dreamy!
