Another full-band track: two guitars, bass, drums. I'd started with the syncopated drum line with the thought that I'd do something kind of spacious and dubby, but...then when I started playing, it took on a different character.

Order of tracking: drums, guitars, bass. Doing guitars earlier than bass tends to result in more harmonic motion. Guitars: PureSalem Mendiola with high-pass Auto-Filter with some drive, and sends to an echo plugin and convolution reverb . Bass: 80s Epiphone Embassy II on the P pickup, with EQ-8 for low-end rolloff, and some convolution reverb (with high-pass filter in front). Drums: Ableton 64 Pad Kit Jazz with a bit extra drive from Drum Buss and 2-and-4 send to the echo plugin, as well as some Max Humanizer. There's the usual audio effects rack on the stereo out.

The title comes from an experience John the Silent (born in 452) had during meditation.

This fusion of Guitars and hagiography sounds like it's working out.  I can see why you'd shoot for spacey/dubby, but what you got instead is great.

josh was snoring next to me as i'm playing through - all a sudden he wakes & says "is that maurice?"

got like a seductively-brooding feel to it, drew me right in heart

I do like the different tones there, especially the gritty bass.

I'm really drawn to this, that's a nice bass
