Exotic Sphere

By onezero on February 16, 2020 5:29 pm

This weekend is PRF Thundersnow in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  I'm attending, did a set (available here), and ran some Deep Listening activities, so...here's a quick improvisation for this week. Kind of a first-thought/best thought approach, with only one take.  (Total time maybe...45 minutes from setup to upload, with the improvisation real time.)  PureSalem Mendiola guitar with Bigsby going through a Moyo volume pedal, and my quad-delay Max/MSP patch. Levels tweaked in Live--admittedly there's some clipping--and full-chain master on the output.

The title: according to Wikipedia, "7 is the lowest dimension of a known exotic sphere." (from the page on the number 7)

Wow, small world. I'm friends with Josh and Garth (the rutabega). They've been softly nudging me to go to a PRF event for years, now. Lovely track, btw.

Thank you!

I still have my TOTES NOT A CULT tote.  I was scheduled right before The Rutabega, so we worked out a thing where our sets blended together. It was awesome.  And Josh and Garth are wonderful people. (We missed you, Emily!)

This is stunning, really sent shivers down my spine.

That's a pretty exotic song from you.

great track.

it really is a small world. my friend Brendan (The Paver) attended PRF a while back and has played strings on a few Rutabega records. that's a lot of Rutebega connections in one WB thread

You've stripped the guitar out of the guitar to create something new.  Otherworldly. Like the exotic sphere. I can hear the cosmic background radiation edging in at the end. Well done!

dreamy shit right here, love all the pulsing
