Elk & Driftwood

As we enter the end of summer break, things are generally good, so I'm not quite sure where the mournfulness is coming from in this piece. I held out the antenna and this is what came through.

Three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola, some of which got the vintage circuit on the UA Volt. Some small-room convolution reverb, and some compression/eq on the stereo mix.

The title comes from the towns at the ends of PA-555. (I'd thought of referencing the venerable 555 timer integrated circuit, but this seems a bit too wistful for technical associations.)

As the summer comes to a close, perhaps that's the sense of mourning comes from. Perhaps it is nostalgia. Either way, it sounds really good.
