Still on my one-guitar thing--three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola. I tracked a few things on baritone Friday night, and then Saturday night went in another direction with some melodies and chords on the Mendiola. I'll typically start with something and then respond to it; this one came together really quickly that way.

No effects other than convolution reverb send (with automation) and multi-band compression/eq on the stereo bus.

The title comes from a 459 CE treaty between the Romans and Ostrogoths, which sent me looking into Ostrogothic history a bit. (There's a lot there! But it's a nice day and I should get out.)

Love the moments when you show restraint in introducing the lower-register notes to the chord progression. The light touch gives the track an enchanting sense of sparsity. Beautiful work. heart

This is beautiful.  Not helping my GAS to get a Baritone or Bass VI

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I do like the contrasts.

Thank you! It might be helpful to know that the finished piece here is just guitar, and not baritone or Bass VI (which is an instrument I've long had an eye on, too). I tracked a bit of baritone for this, but it wasn't happening, and I didn't use it.

i wonder which of the goths this goth kid descends from?

this piece is simply beautiful in it's simplicity

I really love your one guitar stuff, but what's more, if you squint with your ears just so, it sometimes feels like it has a piano in it and that just makes me curious what you would make with an actual piano; or at least what your stuff would be like with piano sounds.
