Bearer of Light

Apologies to everyone for not being more able to listen and comment--the current job search has required a lot of concentration on code challenges and so on.  Fingers crossed I can get this wrapped up soon. (And I'm going to make an effort to fit in more listening.)

This track came together at the end of the week--I went with two drum parts (Korg Minipops and a dry acoustic kit), doing intuitive, minimalistic drum patterns.  Then I put on a few snippets of bass (Epi P-J).  I thought I'd do some noise with an unmounted pickup I have...but rejected those parts, which sounded too much like bad recording.

On a whim, I tracked some regular playing on the Moog guitar, along with some regular playing with sustain on the end of notes, and full-on drones.  I then ended up breaking those into three tracks--two very wet with convolution reverb, and one (with more conventional playing) more dry.  All of them got auto-filter with drive into a cabinet plugin, and one got auto-pan tremolo. All guitars got slow auto-pan for L-R variety.

Everything got full-chain master.  There are two convolution reverbs (one longer, one more of a room) and a channel of Echo.

Title comes from phosphorus, element 15.

Smooth.

Really cool vibe, and I love how these drums develop heart Good luck with your job search man!

smoooooth funk. Love that guitar. So cool. My favorite one of yours this year.

Soft, smooth and funky! Very nice.
Best of luck with your job search.

Great drum patterns!  In my mind, the bass is kind of the rhythm and the drums are the bass.

Yeah, good luck on the job search!  I recommend linking your WB tracks in your résumé.  If they don't hire you on your basslines alone, YOU DON'T NEED THAT JOB.

Have you considered getting a job as an Executive Director Of The Funk?

???

The bass is way cool but the most outstanding thing are those guitars at maybe 2/3.
Have to download this one big_smile

This is smooth as fuck. Well done all around and that bass line is killer.

I hadn't...though I've been talking to some people who were impressed to find some of my stuff on bandcamp.  Who's hiring for The Funk?
