This week involved a lot of concentration getting up to speed on the new gig, but I got little snippets of work in on this piece every so many evenings. Once again I busted out the Corpus plugin on drums and percussion (tablas), though it's a bit different. I wrote a bunch of keyboard lines I didn't end up using, though a few clips and chords remain (organ and Electric).  I tracked bass (Epi) and guitar (Res-O-Glas), and made a lot of use of send channels (two Echo and one convolution reverb).  Put this one together collage-style; not a lot of automation.  The usual full-chain master on the output.

Title comes from the original refinement of potassium (element 19) from ashes.

Nice jam. Your bass skills are strong and in the super low groove. Cool drum sounds. Good luck with the new gig!

Thank you!  Glad you like it!

Something weird going on with the guitar: even after recalibrating the sync delay, there's a very weird timing going on that has no relation to what I'm actually playing in the physical room. Fingers crossed that I work it out for this week...

If you hadn't said anything about the guitar sync, I would have thought it was just laid-back and conversational. Actually, it still reads that way...

Digging the groove.

I always like your smooth funk tracks most. The tablas are fun also that bell like sound...
And bass is smooth as ever smile

Damn, you've truly mastered this funk bass + drum sound. Love all the delay lines heart

That bass sounds fantastic. Great job with the drums too, I love the dealys on that snare heart

i can feel your mind working and sorting all the new information out here - really cool piece!

Thank you, Jim!  I may have figured out the drifting sync--I used a different USB-USB-C converter for the A/D on the guitar, and...while they should be equivalent...I'm starting to think this other one has less throughput.

Thank you for listening and for these compliments! Glad you like it!

I really like what the guitar is doing in this track and this mix is so wonderful and clear.

Thank you, Ryan!  I'm going to credit both Drum Buss on the drums and my new AIAIAI headphones--I went with the combination with a bass boost, but flat above that (S03-H04-E05-C02).  My old mixes now sound crowded in the lower mids, so this is helping me sort that out.
