Crispy Citrus

Vaguely proggy metal this week, and an interesting amplifier. Orange Amps are kind of a love hate thing for me, some decent gear, but it never quite works with my style and guitar types, but the only one that really ever dropped into my lap cheap was this TH30, apparently a stripped down thunderverb. Even more interesting is the Thunderverb was discontinued, and is the closest I can get to decent tone on lol, so no-one else liked it much obviously.
It still has that 'orange' upper mids, but the downfall of this amp is only a 'shape' knob, no proper EQ. Still, it's better than the 'tone' knob on the tiny terror series!
So I find this week a tone that I kind of dislike on its own, and required a fair bit of post work, and still is a bit scratchy, but was very surprised at the lead tone it has, so it will quite possibly turn up on lead tracks when I'm using something else on the rhythms, it will probably cut and sit above an amp like a 5150 etc. So still learned something this week.

That cuts!

I quite like it. There is a "classic rock" quality to it as well.

Your bass tone is really fun to listen too as well on this one.

What kind of speaker are loaded on the cab you used for this track?

Hey Djippy! I did enjoy the clanky no mids bass this week too! Im going to use this Vintage 30 loaded cab for the first run through of amps, just to keep the speakers the same until I run out, then I might start going through cabs too!!
