Angry at Robots

New Pedal week!! Finally saw the Tom Morello signature MXR Pedal, the Power 50. So straight home to write a RATM/Prophets of Rage rip off! A difficult task, seeing as how they are a damn unique band, Im not great at writing funky beats, and Rage always had that beat and feel nailed. But tried my best. Got out my squire tele and did all the guitars on the neck pickup and only brought in humbuckers for the lead, which is probably the first time in my whole life I have played dirty rhythms on a neck pickup, but that's the Tom trick apparently.

Now I just need a strong voiced rapper to finish this off!! lol

The Power 50 is definitely one of the best JCM800 in a box pedals that I have seen before, really nailed it there MXR.
Wish I had a whammy pedal for the lead, but don't, so the whammy line was post.

Hahaha the mid-song count-in on cowbell made me laugh out loud. Nice job covering the RATM tropes here. Even the subtle ones like the cowbell.

Damn those pesky robots! Very RATM.

Love the RATM sound. The crispy stereo guitar sounds awesome.  Are you doubling up in live passes or processing for that wide effect? Great drum and bass sounds!

Rock yeah. Love the guitar tones.

AH, many thanks, just usual left and right guitars, but 2 things that probably help, making the single guitar line centre panned, so when the left and right hit it has more impact, and the 2nd one I dread to even mention. LESS Gain!!! Shudder!!! Im a 'more is more' gain guy usually, but the adage is true!!! They breathe more with less dirt. Sigh.

Is it even RATM without cowbell??? Many thanks kind sir!

Very powerful. A lot of rage into the notes.

I think one of the real key component of Rage sound is Tim's overdriven bass and how the drums hit powerfully. What a great band. Cool track, I like the concept and the good fuzz sound you're getting out of this pedal. Now you need a real digitech whammy pedal! smile
