Nirvana made Bleach for $600 According to Gilmore Girls Episode 110

By NWSPR on December 27, 2020 11:56 pm

Overheard as my daughter was watching an episode of Gilmore Girls today, and I was all like shut up pop culture trash randomly spitting out factoids in an effort to be relevant on some level.  Anyway, I thought it would be a funny title for my last track of 2020 and it stuck.

I couldn't finish the vocals due to technical difficulties with my set up.  There was significant lag which threw off my timing so I recorded with my vocal track muted and could not hear myself in the headphones. I ran out of time and decided to put up what I have... So thank you 2020, final kick in the ass!  Ironically one of the few lyrics that made it through was "no excuses" and here I go with the excuses.

One of my goals this year was to do a country inspired track.  This is not country by a long shot but the theme of saying goodbye was appropriate and on my mind.  So some shred of the original country song remains.

Anyways, in all sincerity it has been an amazing year to go through this together.  Thanks for listening and sharing.  Be safe, be well.  And I'll see you next week ;-)

And one last time...

Looking for Sci-Fi, Future Sounding, Fun, or Dystopian tracks that we will put in the program for attendees of the online festival.

Here's the 2020 festival website with this year's films https://2020.brooklynscififilmfest.com/

You can reach me at [email protected].  Or submit your info here: https://brooklynscififilmfest.com/music-submission

The festival will be in September of next year so you have time.  Thanks!

The harmonica gives it a little tiny taste of country I think.  The synth part is super catchy when it kicks in.  It's definitely been awesome going through this with everyone.  WeeklyBeats made this horrible year less horrible.  And I will be sure to submit something!

I'll be missing this harmonica in 2021! Great way to say goodbye to weekly beats. 2020.

I highly respect your work on the filmfestival issue and surely would like support it. I have to go into my studio and see if I can create appropriate sounds. I wonder how you could handle your lovely family and still can come up with so many solid songs this year. I wish you a pretty good year in 2021 and hope we can coopereate soon.

Congratulations, you did great this year. Wish you all the best. I actually think this track is country. smile See you soon. JP.

WAIT IS THAT TRUE THOUGH?

Great track, this is the cowboy rides off into the sunset / end credits of WB 2020

I like the husky singing here, it reminds me of Tom Petty in the best way.

But you still have the synths for that "touch of robot"

Harmonica is really good.  The timing/lag stuff drives me nuts - sometimes I record a take, then record the sound of the metronome through the headphones into the microphone to sync it up later.  Ableton has latency autocorrect feature, but sometimes I feel like the latency changes???  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

GREAT JOB THIS YEAR and I'll be in touch regarding the film fest!!!

Lol that title ... is it true?!!?! Gilmore Girls writers wouldn't make that up right??

Love your vocals .... say goodbye! that harp ... I'm getting Boss (Bruce) vibes a little, and I'm happy for it. But yes, as OD said, the classic "touch of robot" is here for sure. Always like the diversity in your work. You do some great rock, some synth driven stuff, and mix of that and more for that special touch of robot indeed. Have enjoyed your songs a lot this year. Thanks for listening and commenting on so much of my stuff, that means a lot. Glad we have connected on some of the platforms, will stay in touch. And see you back here in 2022 for sure, this is the place! Cheers! - Aaron

Awesome song title lol and a very fitting track for the final week.  The harmonica and your vocals give it that sense of a big ride coming to an end.  The instrumentation was perfect for this.  Just to let ya know, I submitted via the website too smile  I look forward to seeing how that goes and I hope you have an awesome new year!

That explains why I can't quite make out the vocals. Oh well, the harmonica is awesome either way. It may not be country, but it's definitely country inspired.

Happy New Year.
