I Don't Know How (To Spell Chanukah)

- - - - - - - - - Googles Says:

Sixteen ways to spell Hanukkah. There is no correct spelling.  But three main spellings I grew up with.

For the record:

Hanukkah : 8,470,000 hits.
Chanukah : 3,390,000 hits.
Hanukah : 862,000 hits.
Hannukah : 677,000 hits.
Chanuka : 335,000 hits.
Chanukkah : 274,000 hits.
Hanuka : 192,000 hits.
Channukah : 128,000 hits.
Chanukka : 116,000 hits.*
Hanukka : 86,300 hits.
Hannuka : 51,400 hits.
Hannukkah : 37,300 hits.
Channuka : 33,600 hits.
Xanuka : 992 hits.
Hannukka : 686 hits.
Channukkah : 508 hits.
Channukka : 489 hits.*
Chanuqa : 25 hits.

With the exception of a few wildcards, there are 16 different spellings, based on four phonetic variations:

The word starts with “H” or “Ch”
Second consonant is “nn” or “n”
Third consonant is “kk” or “k”
The word ends with “ah” or “a”

Happy Channukkah everyone! I'm off to make potato latkes. 1 more week!!

Happy Channukkah! I am a non praticant Catholic here... Still Religion is a big part of what created Québec-Canada and even if most of Quebecers did throw out the attachment to religions in the 1960's, it is still very present especially on the architecture with the many beautiful churches.

hope you have a great holiday time, nice track, I really like the harmonica on it (which stops quite abruptly at the end... It is what it is, happy last 2 weekly beats!!!

I never realized there were so many different spellings.  I was vaguely aware that it could start with a C or an H, but as for the rest... no clue.  If I had to spell it myself I'd probably go with Hannukah, although I notice that set off the spell checker.  But anyway the track has great energy and the music is quite catchy.  Gets you into the festive spirit for sure.

The harmonica! What an uncommon instrument in electronic tracks but its appearance always feels so appropriate in your tracks. My only complaint about this track is that it was too short! I wanted to enjoy more and more of it. And the theme is really fun. smile

this is a short and very solid teaser. I think this could be a world-hit. Please think of a remake and edit.
חנוכה שמח

my buddy Jon who's a DJ is doing an all חנוכה set Wednesday night 5pm -8pmnot sure he's gonna play it... we shared your song with him cause it was so fun as a holiday greeting & he said he downloaded it heart

Happy Holidays! Exquisite production: the lush synth magic gets way inside, i don't expect to feel this deep, but as you ask the question in the song, i find myself searching my soul for the answer(it affirmed in a Hebrew my regular mind and body didn't even seem to know somehow: "חֲנֻכָּה‎").

heart

excellent.

I knew two bars in I was gonna love this, and it delivered, great work
As for spelling, that's Hebrew for ya

Sweet, a grand joyful song. Ha, what a good concept. I had no idea so many spellings. I have seen a few of these and always wondered what was up. Now I've learned something new. This was fun!

Excellent vocals throughout and love the synth bass.  We had to settle for the frozen aisle latkes this year smile  Hope you are having a great holiday season!

We listened to this cooking dinner & somehow missed your song - but it looks like Jon played your song!
