I wanted something that could sound while playing Tetris videogame, so I lifted the chord progression from Tetris and built something around. I am pretty happy with the part where everything goes up to eleven.

Great! That part where things go up to eleven definitely is pretty awesome!

The first few sections sound like something that might be in the background of a mid-80s sci fi/action film

That's a really interesting idea. For some reason I've never considered trying to soundtrack an activity I want to do.
And this absolutely works as Tetris music!

Thank you, honestly the idea came to me while listening to the awesome Tetris 99 soundtrack which is way better than this.
