gunk bit

By note! on February 8, 2026 9:47 pm

cracked out LSDJ for a last second attempt at a WB. Wanted to go cheese. Ended up with gunk. Should probably give the ol' GB a spin more often.

Gunked up chip boy with a little bit of cheer...

Yes!  Love it!  Downloading now!

I love the sounds but something about the stereo (or lack thereof?) makes my eyes water! It's a cool effect - I just wasn't ready for it. The tune is fun and really shows off what LSDJ can do for something more pop-aligned (instead of straight boss fight music). Lots of good themes and variation.

You are dead on there's some weird stereo stuff going on here! I was kinda digging the disjointed sound (reminded me of playing Gameboys through speakers they weren't intended for). But it is a little unnerving. Also, I've got some wrong notes in there it turns out! Haha. Bass line is off in the second half.

But in short, the L and R channels are being split at my an intellijel input then L is run to a 4MS Dual Looping Delay with barely any wet signal at a very short delay length. That output and the right out put are summed at a Three Sisters filter where the Left is going to Bandpass and the Right to an open Lowpass. Then there's a touch of stereo widening in Live. Frankly, I have no idea what it's doing other than making brain go BRRRTTT.

Thaaaat’s what it was! Yeah the whole audio style collapsed my head and sounded like nothing else. Absolutely wild effect! (And don’t worry my bass is usually messed up so I didn’t notice)

fun track! Love when LSDJ holds down the low end like that. You just know it would sound killer on a big system in a club.

And yeah, there is some weird stereo thing going on. Like a stereo widener set to an extreme setting or something. It's an interesting effect haha.

A very fine vintage of gunk.
